I purchased this book when it came out but haven't read it yet. I know it will be a hard--but necessary--read. Your comment from the book about all Black people being a little crazy made me think of Drapetomania, a "mental illness" that made enslaved Blacks want to escape slavery. Unbelievable. You’re right, it’s definitely not an easy read. And I do think drapetomania comes up in the book; lots to unpack in it. I hope you find the read worthwhile when you get to it.
