My debut novel, Women of the Post, will be out next Tuesday. I have a lot of feelings , almost all of them good, some of them surprising, but more on that to come. Mostly I am thinking about my friend Rumaan, the brilliant, hilariously charming novelist, who gifted me the writerly wisdom to enjoy the process, because you only publish your debut once. And all my fellow writers who have walked this path are saying variations of the same thing: Enjoy.
I am so over the moon to note that the novel has received praise from Ms. Magazine & Lambda Literary. My fellow book lovers on Instagram have been spreading the word & lighting up my stories. My heart is full.
I’m celebrating at one of my favorite indie bookstores in NYC, Bluestockings, in conversation with the author and founder of the Bronx Book Festival and The Bronx is Reading Saraciea Fennell. The celebration has already started in my house (you already know!) but it will continue with some of my beloved community next Tuesday, July 18th at 6 p.m.
RSVP is free & will help the bookstore prepare for the crowd. Speaking of which, masks are required at the venue & the store will have some available for those who forget theirs. Thank you for the support & love that has made it possible for me to share this work in the world.
More in-person and virtual celebrations are coming - stay tuned!
